Aion 2 Season 2 Guide: December 16 Reset, New Dungeons, Raid, and Pre-Season Checklist

Season 2 of Aion 2 launches on December 16, 2026, with the daily reset, replacing Season 1 which ends the same day. It runs until February 28, 2027. This guide covers only what actually affects you: what resets, what’s worth doing beforehand, and how to approach the new content. And if you’re sitting on surplus currency heading into the new season, you can Sell Aion 2 Kinah to fund your own entry costs, consumables, and gear prep without falling behind.

1. Season Transition: Do This First or Lose Currency

When the season ends, Oath Coins and Daeva Pass Shop Coins are deleted outright—they do not carry over to Season 2. This is your top priority before December 16: open the season shop and spend both currencies down to zero.

What resets: All leaderboards (Nightmare, Transcendent, Ascension Trial, Abyss, Arena), the Nightmare boss lineup, and Odyle Energy and entry tickets (reissued).

What persists: Character level, gear, enhancement levels, Abyss Points, Phantasmal Fragments (Nightmare currency), and Centuryroot Tokens. You don’t need to worry about losing gear or progress.

Season rewards can be claimed until March 10, 2027—even if you log in after the season ends, you can still collect them.

2. Core Season 2 Content

New Dungeons: Dying Dramata’s Nest and Cradle of Nihility

Season 2 adds two Tier 4 expedition dungeons. Cradle of Nihility opened on February 11, 2026 on KR/TW servers (delayed from January 28), supports 5-player parties, and offers Exploration, Conquest Normal, and Conquest Hard modes. Exploration requires item level 2,800; Conquest requires 3,000.

The final boss is Afflicted Bakarma, dropping Unstable Stigma Shards, Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation, Draconic crafting materials, and more. The dungeon has its own Gear Change Voucher, usable from February 25 to craft Unique-grade Sync Stones.

New Raid: Corroded Decontamination Facility

This is Season 2’s Sanctuary 10-player raid, with Terminator Bargott as the final boss. It drops the Corroded Ruler weapon, Corroded Afterimage Bracelet, Erosion Bracelet, and crafting materials.

Entry requirements: Item level 3,700 at launch, lowered to 3,500 on March 18, 2026. Each entry costs 80 Odyle Energy (from July 1), and final boss kills are limited to once per week.

The raid is set in an abandoned Balaur base contaminated by experimental waste; you’ll need to destroy surveillance devices along the way. Due to toxic gas and contaminated zones, your respawn point shifts depending on which section you’ve crossed.

Nightmare Dream Layer II

Season 2 opens Nightmare Dream Layer II. KR servers count 7 boss monsters distributed across Nightmare content. New-layer boss ornaments are added to the Statue tab of the Nightmare exchange shop.

Abyss Mid-Layer and Artifact Occupation

Season 2 adds a mid-layer region to the Abyss, designed to spread fights across more routes instead of stacking everyone at one point. The Enraged Nahma encounter is distributed across multiple objective points.

Artifact Occupation adds an underdog buff: the side currently behind gains a buff to counter snowballing, keeping fights contestable. Practical use: fight for meaningful objectives during your buff window instead of throwing bodies at a lost fight.

Rankings Change to “Best Record”

Season 2 leaderboards shift from cumulative to best single run. Grinding attempts is no longer optimal—one clean, well-prepared clear beats repeated messy tries.

Practical advice: Do learning runs early in the week to nail mechanics and stabilize your roster; save record pushes for when the group is fresh and gear is dialed in. Don’t push ranks while the group is unstable or people are swapping builds mid-run.

Season rewards are also distributed by class ranking rather than a single mixed ladder, making mastery of your class more rewarding than chasing the flavor-of-the-month spec.

3. Content Already Live Since October 21: Do This Now

Ahead of Season 2, global servers received Krao Cave and Draupnir hard modes on October 21—currently the most worthwhile PvE content to invest in.

Entry requirements: Item level 2,600. Bosses enrage after 4 minutes, and each player gets a maximum of 3 revives.

Drops: Ariel Fragments, bonus Kina, three Unique crafting materials (Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will, Wrathful Ego), plus Expedition Hero Artworks and Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation.

Using Ariel Fragments: 100 fragments buy 1 bound Daevanion Crystal: Ariel, up to 30 times per character; alternatively, 1 fragment buys 5 Enhance Stones (no cap). Fragments unlock the new Ariel Daevanion Board or convert into Enhance Stones to upgrade existing gear. Decide your priority before spending: push the new board, or reinforce current gear.

Resurrection Stone event: Before the December 16 maintenance, you can buy two packs of 30 Resurrection Spiritstones per week from the server shop—first pack 25,000 Kina, second 50,000 Kina, capped at 60 per server per week. The cap is shared across your characters, so prioritize the character running hard modes.

4. Stigma System: Don’t Hold Wrong Expectations for Season 2

Global servers currently have 4 stigma slots and a level cap of 45. The 5th slot arrived on KR/TW servers in the March 25, 2026 update, while the skill mastery and preset system came in the January update. Season 2 itself (January 21) did not directly expand stigma slots—slot expansion came in later updates.

What Season 2 does bring for stigmas: Stigma Shards added to Season 2 Conquest rewards, and combat presets (wings, titles, skills, stigmas, etc.) going live on January 14.

Conclusion: Don’t hoard resources or plan builds around “Season 2 opening more stigma slots.” Proceed normally with your current 4-slot setup.

5. Pre-December 16 Preparation Checklist

Top priority:

  • Spend all Oath Coins and Daeva Pass Shop Coins—they’re deleted on expiry

  • If you haven’t yet, use remaining time to run Krao Cave / Draupnir hard modes for Ariel Fragments and Wrathful crafting materials

  • Buy the weekly Resurrection Stone packs (if still on sale) to prepare for hard modes

Worth doing:

  • Stockpile crafting materials: heroic gear and advanced crafting will consume large amounts of base materials in Season 2

  • Push your current Nightmare layer—Phantasmal Fragments persist and can be used for the new layer’s exchange in Season 2

  • Stabilize your weekly group: Season 2 rankings reward best records, so group coordination quality matters more than attempt count

Don’t stress about:

  • Gear and levels won’t be lost—no need to “graduate” before the season ends

  • Stigma slots won’t expand in Season 2—keep using your current build

  • Season rewards can be claimed until March 2027—no rush to handle everything on December 16

6. Turning Surplus Aion 2 Kinah Into Season 2 Funding

Season 2 raises the bar for entry costs, consumables, and gear prep, and the Resurrection Stone packs alone—25,000 for the first, 50,000 for the second—add up quickly across a roster. If you’ve accumulated more Aion 2 Kinah than you’ll spend before the reset, z2u.com is a reliable marketplace to turn that surplus into funding for the new season. Veterans can Sell Aion 2 Kinah safely with secure transactions and fast payouts, while buyers hunting for Cheap Aion 2 Kina will find competitive pricing across servers. With Aion 2 Kinah for sale listed around the clock, z2u.com gives both sellers and buyers a straightforward way to prepare for December 16—so you can cover auction-house materials, enhancement stones, or raid consumables without grinding for weeks.

7. One-Line Summary

Season 2’s core is new dungeons, a new raid, the Abyss mid-layer, Nightmare Layer II, and ranking reform. The only must-do before December 16 is clearing out season shop currency; the only thing worth investing in early is hard-mode Krao Cave/Draupnir to build materials and Ariel Board progress for the Season 2 heroic gear transition. Gear and progress persist—proceed at your own pace, and whether you need funds or want to cash out, z2u.com has Aion 2 Kinah for sale and a safe way to Sell Aion 2 Kinah to stay ahead of the curve.
